Frequently asked questions
Can I import a double cab older than 10 years to Zimbabwe?
Not any more. SI 59 of 2026 extended the 10-year ban to double cabs, twin cabs and light cargo vehicles up to 1,400 kg payload.
How is the 10 years counted?
From the date of manufacture, not the date of first registration. Ask our Harare office to confirm the manufacture date before you pay.
Are returning residents exempt?
They were exempt under earlier rules, but they are not in SI 59's list of exemptions. Confirm with ZIMRA before you buy.
What happens to a car that breaks the rule?
It must be re-exported or it is forfeited, so check the age before you pay.
