Autocom Japan has a new website at autocj.co.jp. It has a cleaner design, a search built around how buyers actually shop, and car pages that show the dates your country’s import rules depend on.
Key takeaways
- Search our stock of tens of thousands of cars in Japan by make, model, body type, year, price or reference number.
- Every car page shows both the registration date in Japan (R Year) and the year of manufacture (P Year), so you can check your country’s age rule before you ask for a quote.
- The site works in 10 languages, shows Japan time and the dollar–yen rate, and has local pages for your country.
Search that works the way you shop
Start from the search bar at the top of every page: type a make, a model, a reference number or any keyword. Then narrow the list with filters for make, body type, year and price.
- Body types: sedan, hatchback, SUV, van, truck, hybrid, kei/micro and wagon.
- Ready-made lists: new stock, low mileage, best sellers, manual, 4WD and cars with more than 8 seats.
- Year filter: pick the registration years your country accepts. For example, Kenya accepts cars first registered in 2019 or later in 2026, so buyers there can start with cars registered from 2019.
Car pages that show what matters
Each car has its own page with a full photo gallery and a button to download all the pictures, so you can share them with family or your mechanic. The details are laid out in one table:
- Reference number and FOB price in US dollars.
- R Year / Month — the registration date in Japan.
- P Year — the year of manufacture from Japanese vehicle data.
- Mileage, engine size, fuel, transmission and drive (2WD or 4WD).
- Size and volume in cubic metres, which helps when you compare shipping options.
- Where the car is now and the port in Japan it ships from.
- Options and equipment, from air conditioning and navigation to airbags and the reversing camera.
Why two dates? Countries count a car’s age differently. Kenya uses the year of first registration, while Zimbabwe and Uganda count from manufacture. Seeing both dates on the page saves you from paying for a car that your port will refuse. Our import age checker turns those dates into a quick yes or no, and our office can confirm the exact dates before you pay.
Your language, your country
The website is available in 10 languages: English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, Russian, Georgian, Mongolian, Burmese and Japanese. Choose your country at the top of the page. The top bar also shows Japan Standard Time and the current US dollar to yen rate.
Under Local Information you will find pages for many markets. Where we have an office — Mombasa and Nairobi in Kenya, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Harare in Zimbabwe — the page lists its address, opening hours and WhatsApp number.

Safe payment, clearly shown
A security notice on the home page repeats our most important rule: our bank accounts are all in Japan, and the beneficiary is always “Autocom Japan Inc”. The official account details are on the Bank Details page. If anyone sends you different bank details, stop and contact our office. Read more in how to avoid scams when buying a car from Japan.
Frequently asked questions
Which date should I check for Kenya?
Check R Year / Month, the registration date in Japan. In 2026 Kenya accepts cars first registered in 2019 or later. Ask our office to confirm the date before you pay.
Why do some cars show “ASK” instead of a price?
Some prices appear after you choose your country at the top of the page. If a price still shows “ASK”, send a request from the car page and our team will reply with a quote.
How do I pay for a car I found on the website?
Payment is by bank transfer to our company account in Japan, and in some countries by L/C or PayPal. Our local offices never accept cash. See the Payment page in the website’s Help section.
Can I use the website in my language?
Yes. Pick one of the 10 languages from the Language menu at the top of any page.
